First Steps to My New Year’s Resolution

“HERETIC ALERT!” Today I mailed the letter that requests my church remove me from its membership rolls. Let the shocked phone calls BEGIN! Sadly, church-goers assume that if you leave church you leave your faith. Wrong! I’ve left the christian insitituion and am becoming a free-agent. I’m no longer willing to support the institution that oppresses so many. I am liberating myself. Hopefully, it’ll “stick” this time.

  3. The online community is a God-send also for people like me, who have never stepped into a physical church service. I would love to when I get a chance though 🙂 right now my parents are just not open to the idea of letting me attend a church service. But one day.. I want to. Till then we can hang around online. Yeah 🙂 God is good. lol

    Congratualations on leaving the church.
    It is not an easy thing to do. In a lot of ways it does hurt. If you were like me, it was a huge part of your life. In fact it defined my life for 30+ years. It does hurt to find out that you’ve spent so much time trying to understand and hold on to a lie.

  7. I will have to see for myself one day what the big deal about physical church is. I have some really sweet christian friends who go to church, including a sister who is married to a pastor, and others… and I have heard lots of sermons from John Piper which really build me up and encourage me. So I would imagine a church service to be like 2 + 2. I guess I will see one day whether 2 + 2 equals 4 or not 🙂

    I decided to quit using my name on the internet to protect my privacy and the privacy of my family. I thought of another nickname to use on my blogs: I am from the Midwest in America and I have many doubts about religion, hence I am a Midwest Doubter. 🙂
