Medications and Funerals

Sorry, I’ve been gone. I’m adjusting to the medications that I’m on now that I’ve got a bum ticker. It seems that loss of blood pressure reeks havoc with your system, especially if taking blood thinners at the same time!

I’ve also been attending family functions all weekend because of my father-in-law’s passing last week. It’s always good to see everyone, but sad as well. The funeral was short and dignified by the graveside. My father-in-law and mother-in-law were finally buried together. Both were cremated, but she had passed 23 years ago and he was waiting to bring her back home. Taps was played since he was a Navy veteren and the flag presented to the oldest of the family. Afterwards we had food at the American Legion Hall in town. Everyone of course came over to visit and we had to visit everyone else. Others came in from out of town, as far away as New York and Maine, and we had dinners, drinks, told stories, laughed, cried, and did all the normal family funeral things.  I’m glad it’s over, however, and we can return to our routines. Where would we be without routine as a de-stressor?

I will update the blog as soon as I get back into the swing of things this week. 🙂

  1. Sorry to hear of your loss. You’re in my prayers. I hope your body adjusts to your medication soon, and that God leads you out of your discomfort.
