In Politics, the Choice is Not the Religious Right or Nothing

God's Politics

Good article by Jim Wallis who calls Daily Kos to task for ignoring a huge segment of society called progressive Christians. In politics, it’s not an either/or choice between the Religious Right or the Secular Left during an election. There are reasonable Christians out there who also vote their conscience. Yes, and these consciences can even differ from the usual trinity of issues the Religious Right can’t get past each election season: abortion, homosexuality, and evolution. Other Christians have a broader scope with which they view things. While the Right focuses entirely too much on excluding people from heaven who aren’t as pure as they are, the left is concerned with social justice, oppression, and the dignity of the human person. Good job, Jim.

Of course, there are always those who disagree.
