What the World Needs Now: Kittens!

This is so disgustingly cute I can’t stand it!!! šŸ™‚ Did I mention I’m a cat lover? I love cats more than people sometimes. I can’t help it. Who can resist them? Since the world news is always so bleak, I’m offering this as an alternative. Everyone should be required to watch this every morning before the day starts. If this doesn’t bring a smile to your face then it’s hopeless:

  1. Not many things sweeter than little baby kitties! I always had a batch of them when my daughters were kids. We were forever taking in strays.

Several years ago, when I had no more pets or thoughts of having any more pets, we kept seeing a red cat in our house. We would just catch a glimpse and a dart. We would ask one another, did you see that cat? We turned the house upside down and could find no cat. One morning as my eldest daughter was getting ready for work, she heard mewing under her bed. She looked and found a mommy kitty and six babies there. The mom was a neighborhood stray (and very skittish) who had found a loose board in our basement and was coming in and out. She found a safe place to have her babies. My daughter had called a neighbor to ask what she should do, and the neighbor recommended she call animal control to get them. Her next call was to me, and my first question to her was had she fed the mommy yet… of course she replied that she had! She had gone to my sister’s across the street who had a cat and fed the mommy. We raised the babies until they were old enough to farm out and I have the runt of that litter still.

  2. Robin,

Yes, I’ve always been “taken in” by strays myself. I’ve found so many cats and kittens over the years that I figure I’ve worked out my “animal” karma and then some. I like the “red” cat story. That’s pretty cool. šŸ™‚
